The Garden Island - Arrival

Our trip to the Garden Island (Kaua'i) was more of an adventure than we could have imagined. We arrived on Friday April 27th, and headed for the Aloha Estates in Kalaheo. Upon arrival we found a note on the door, the owners were out but our suite was open for us around back. In our tired state we managed to lock ourselves out before we even got the door open. With nothing else to do our stomachs took over and we went on a search for some dinner. We found some beer and bagels and headed to the beach.

At first we found it odd that a chicken would be at the beach, but as we were to find out the next morning around 5am they are everywhere :)

After our evening picnic on the beach we returned to our apartment, the door was open and it was the perfect suite for us. A bed for each of us, a kitchen, a very nice lanai off the kitchen, and a rather odd bathroom. I believe our heads touched the pillows around 8:30pm and we were all asleep shortly after that.
